It has been a long time since the Caudalie’s Beauty elixir has been launched to become the favorite product of many people. And seeing so many people saying that this water was wonderful, I confess that I was very willing to include it in my routine, but the price of the product held my impulse, since the regular packaging of 100ml costs CAD $59.00 at Sephora. However, in one of my visits at Sephora, I saw next to the cashier a trip size package of 30ml that costs CAD $22.00 (check it here) I and I thought it was a good opportunity to test this product.
And today I share with you a review of it.
My skin type: Normal to dry Test time: Daily for 2 weeks
ABOUT THE BEAUTY ELIXIR BY CAUDALIE
The Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir is a refreshing tonic that promises to reduce pores, reduce lines, lighten, moisturize and illuminate the skin, besides giving a better finish and greater fixation on makeup.
MY IMPRESSIONS ABOUT CAUDALIE BEAUTY ELIXIR
The first feature that draws me the attention of the product is the strong and mentholated smell that I particularly dislike, but it disappears shortly after spraying the product on the skin.
When using the Beauty Elixir I feel an immediate refresher and therefore it is great to use on hot days. Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir promises to reduce traces, lighten, moisturize and brighten the skin, but frankly, I didn’t notice any of it.
In the packaging is indicated use before the facial moisturizer, but when I do a test on some product I stop using the rest of my routine (I keep only the sunscreen) not to influence the result and I did not feel that my skin was lit or that cleared stains leaving the skin more uniform. About hydration, I confess that I felt no difference and as in the formula has alcohol I think it important to be careful, especially those who have dry skin.
I need to mention that my skin still doesn’t have many lines of expression, just a few in the eye region, so in I have no way to evaluate the product in relation to reducing the lines.
Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir also promises to reduce the appearance of the pores and I decided to take the test. Overall, I don’t have many open pores and the only region of my face that concentrates open pores is on my nose and on the sides of it, so based on that region that I performed the test.
* Test: So that you could visualize the pores I used a facial mask that dries and leaves my pores well visible.
In the first photo I had not yet started the product usage routine and in the second photo, I was already using the product two weeks ago and also sprayed before passing the facial mask that highlights the pores.
Particularly, I thought it reduced the appearance of the pores somewhat. What do you think?
Regarding the durability of the makeup the product is very good. He really contributed to making the makeup more lasting. As a test, I did a makeup in the morning and after 10hs the makeup was intact (except on the nose, but this is my fault because I have allergic that causes a frequent runny nose).
To complement, in this same test I used the Beauty Elixir by Caudalie on the left side of the face and the right side of the face I used the thermal water of Avène(which I have already reviewed in this post), because I wanted to compare the durability of the makeup with the two products. Check below:
I found that both products gave the same finish and the same durability in makeup.
After the tests I think the Beauty elixir of Caudalie is great for fixing makeup and refreshing the skin, but as the decrease in the appearance of the pores was not very significant and I did not get any other result promised by the product such as hydration and luster, so for me, theBeauty Elixir ended up having the same function of the thermal water that I already use, but with the disadvantage of being much more expensive and having a strong smell that did not please me.
I hope this review will help you in research on Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir and don’t forget to collect other opinions too 🙂
